Living A Dream Reality
I have been drawing since I was a child, the first thing I remember drawing were orange fish in our family garden pond when I was three years old. Age six, I had to draw our family dog, a border collie mix named Linda. My mother told me I had to get very detail of the net curtains behind her. I also remember thoroughly enjoying drawing a flying owl with white chalk on black paper at school when I was seven years old. I constantly drew, and preferred making art and watching the news and documentaries to playing with friends. I entered many drawing competitions including designing logos for my school and musical production t-shirts of which I won several times.
When I was twelve I was asked if I would like to do my GCSE in Art three years early, which I did and passed with a grade A. I went onto York College and completed the Advanced Level Art to get an A and was one of the top five in the country.
I then completed the Foundation Course of Art at York Technical College which I passed with Distinction. I participated in nighttime portrait and life drawing classes. A trip to Florence and Milan, Italy was part of this program, after which I completed a sculpture module.
I went on to study The Bachelors Of Fine Art Program in Drawing And Painting for two years at The Slade School, University College London. Here I also passed The Human Anatomy For Artists Course in the Medical Department.
I came to New York, during my five years at The New York Studio School Of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture I was part of a group show at The Robert Steele Gallery, Chelsea. I also won a Scholarship to the Summer program at the Chautauqua School Of Art. On a visit back to my home city of York, England I had two solo shows in popular local venues.
When living in London I worked at a local bar, club and music venue called BarFly in Camden Town. I also went Sky Diving.
